The ESPN commentator’s Golden Retriever showed off his charms on the pre-game show of SportsCenter ahead of the game between Ohio State Buckeyes and Indiana Hoosiers in Columbus. However, the pup’s cute gestures completely took over the event as well as social media.

Kirk Herbstreit’s charming pooch, Peter, recently joined the “College GameDay” broadcast in Columbus, Ohio. The sports commentator took to his X (formerly Twitter) to share the clip of Peter being cute during the pre-game show. Herbstreit playfully wrote, “Peter is ready for @CollegeGameDay in Columbus!” As expected, the video has melted the hearts of many internet users for the dog’s adorable interaction with others.
In the clip, the host asks Herbstreit whether his furbaby was there. The host further explained, “I already saw a sign that said, ‘I’m here for Pat and I’m here for Pete.’” By Pat, they referred to sports the popular analyst Pat McAfee, and by Pete, they referred to the cute Golden Retriever. At that moment, Herbstreit revealed that his dog was with him and called him over. Until then, the excited pup was off-camera as he received pettings from the crew.
The camera then focused on Peter, who had an adorable expression as he looked at the broadcast table with his tongue sticking out. Herbstreit also sported a bright smile as soon as the canine appeared during the broadcast. Seeing Peter, the host said, “There he is. Look at the man!” In the video, viewers could also see the crowd at the stadium cheering. The host then began talking about how excited the crowd was to witness the game between the two teams — Indiana Hoosiers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
