It is hard to find furry companions anything but adorable. However, one video has the internet divided on whether the dog’s smile is cute or creepy. The Golden Retriever named Bowie is well known on social media for his fluffy cuteness. In one of his latest Instagram Reels, his owner could not help but ask the netizens if his smile was quirky yet adorable or simply terrifying.

Owner asks internet if her dog’s smile is cute or terrifying

Bowie is famous for his happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever smile. However, in a recent video, the dog’s smile had his owner questioning if they should be terrified of their fluffy boy. They took to Instagram to ask netizens if his cheeky smirk is “cute or terrifying.” Moreover, many agreed that the pup looked adorable yet slightly creepy.

In the Instagram Reel, Bowie looks back at his human, giving them what looks like an evil smirk. Since the Golden Retriever usually has a bright-as-sunshine smile, his owner was naturally caught off guard by the smirk. The clip then slowly zooms into Bowie’s face, capturing the moment in slow motion. The in-video text read, “Caught my dog smiling and I can’t tell if it’s cute or terrifying.”

The internet was also divided on the dog’s smile, commenting under the video that it was definitely “kind of creepy.” A commenter joked that the pup has “got a secret,” with another exclaiming that he gave his owner “basically a wicked smile.” Some even went so far as to compare Bowie’s smile to the Grinch’s, sharing GIFs of the same.

However, everybody agreed that regardless of the creepiness of the smile, the dog was still oh-so-adorable. A user pointed out that the smile would have been cute if the owner had not played it back in slow motion. Many interpreted it as a mischievous smile as well, stating that Bowie was surely “up to something.”
