Dog has the most fun on his first ‘tropical vacation’ in viral video
Drake the Pupstar — a Golden Retriever who has gained a huge following on social media — recently made his international travel debut, and fans can’t get enough. Owned by NHL defenseman Ivan Provorov of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Drake is known for his playful personality, love of hockey, and obsession with clamming. But this time, he traded skates and clam hunts for sunshine and ocean waves on a tropical escape to Anguilla.
Posted to his TikTok and Instagram accounts, the video follows Drake’s first vacation abroad through a humorous voiceover that gives the pup a personality of his own. Using a robotic “dog voice,” Drake explains how his “hoomans” took him on his first international trip.
After checking out the hotel room, the Golden Retriever immediately sets his priorities straight, saying he would rather be “in the water and not looking at it.” Moments later, he’s doing exactly that — leaping right into the clear blue ocean.
Unfortunately for the clam-loving Retriever, there are no clams or crabs in sight. “I don’t know how this place has no clams or crabs, but these rocks will do,” he says as he plays in the water. He then rolls happily in the sand before his humans rinse him off.
One clip shows his dad drying him with a towel and giving him a head massage, which Drake describes as “heaven.” After a fun and exhausting day at the beach, his humans head out for dinner while Drake takes a nap, later waking up to enjoy his meal.
It is safe to say that Drake has set a new bar for pet travel goals. His tropical getaway is exactly the kind of vacation we all wish we could experience with our furry friends.
