Working from home has become the new normal for many, but if you’re a dog owner, it can quickly turn into a full-on circus. Between juggling Zoom meetings, responding to endless emails, and meeting tight deadlines, keeping a curious, high-energy pup entertained can feel like a constant challenge. However, one savvy dog mom has cracked the code for staying productive while making sure her playful puppy stays busy and happy. Now, she’s sharing her top tips in an Instagram video with fellow dog lovers facing the same struggle.

Owner has handy tips for working from home with a puppy

The dog mom, who goes by @indytheminidoxie on Instagram, shared her best strategies for managing work while caring for her Mini Longhaired Dachshund, Indy. She begins by acknowledging that working from home with a puppy is no easy feat, especially when your pup is as energetic as Indy. “As the owner of a very energetic dachshund,” she says, “I’ve tried everything to keep her entertained while I work.”

The first tip she shares is using an interactive treat-dispensing toy called the Snoop Dog. This toy allows her to adjust the size of the treat inside, making it a versatile option for keeping Indy engaged. One of her favorite ways to use it is by filling it with frozen carrots. The frozen treats make it more challenging for Indy to access the carrots and help keep her occupied for up to an hour.

Next, the owner talks about using Indy’s “absolute favorite” bully sticks. She explains that the pup will happily chew on them for long periods, especially when she needs something to keep her quiet during meetings. “She’ll sit there and chew on this until I take it away from her,” she shares. Most importantly, the owner ensures Indy’s safety by using a bully stick stopper to prevent any choking hazards,

Finally, she recommends teething toys. According to the dog mom, even though Indy has outgrown the teething stage, she still loves to chew on them. She emphasizes that having these toys available keeps Indy content and helps avoid any unwanted behaviors. Adding a final tip in the video’s caption, the dog mom suggests viewers to “pair these with a long walk for best results.” After all, a tired puppy is a happy puppy!
