It is no secret that most dogs will do just about anything to avoid bath time. Whether it is hiding under the bed, bolting at the sound of running water, or turning the tub into a splash zone, getting a pooch clean is rarely a quiet experience. So, when a TikTok user shared a video of their foster dog’s unusually zen attitude during bath time, the internet understandably took notice.

Do you think Katniss enjoyed it? ??? Katniss and her sister Rue came to us from the shelter last month. They were going to be euthanized because the shelter didn’t have space. Even though she’s been through a lot at such a young age, she is incredibly resilient and is such a sweet, calm, gentle girl. She is a 10 month old puppy and does wonderfully with all of our dogs. She is AMAZING at settling inside and doesn’t chew on anything she isn’t supposed to. She is crate trained, house trained, and is doing great with her obedience training. She is spayed and vaccinated. She is currently pending adoption. We will keep you guys updated if it works out or if she becomes available to adopt again.

A video posted on the TikTok account @thegoodhype features a foster dog named Katniss behaving like the calmest, most composed pup during her bath. As her fosterer gently works through each step of the bath routine — rinsing, shampooing, and drying — Katniss does not flinch. No dramatic splashes or attempts to escape. Instead, she sits quietly, staring softly at her fosterer, clearly trusting every moment.

Katniss and her sister, Rue, were rescued from a shelter in August last year. According to the video’s caption, the two dogs were days away from being euthanized due to overcrowding. Since coming into foster care, Katniss has shown nothing but resilience and sweetness, especially given how much she’s been through at just 10 months old.

The fosterer also notes that Katniss is “crate trained, house trained, and is doing great with her obedience training.” As of the video’s posting, the pup was pending adoption, and her fosterer promised to keep followers updated in case her adoption falls through — just in case anyone else falls in love with her. And many already have.

The video has racked up over 12.6 million views and 1.3 million likes so far. In the comments, one viewer wrote, “It’s the unbreakable eye contact for me. Complete love bug.” Another joked, “Foster? You have to keep her now. No one is going to treat her better.” Many others shared their own experiences fostering or adopting dogs and praised the calm demeanor Katniss showed.

While not every pup enjoys water, regular bathing and grooming is an important part of keeping them healthy. Most dogs only need a bath every four to six weeks, depending on their breed and lifestyle. As always, consult your veterinarian to determine the best bathing schedule for your dog’s specific needs.
